The former Helsinki abattoir from 1933, re-opened in 2012 as Teurastamo Helsinki, is a melting pot of food and urban culture. Currently there are a dozen active businesses operating in the Teurastamo area, ranging from restaurants to urban events, from a business college to a coffee roastery and from a distillery to a pasta factory. Palace is so far the only restaurant in Finland who holds two Michelin Stars. Established in 1952, Palace has always been a pioneer of Finnish gastronomy. It was the first Finnish restaurant to receive a Michelin star in 1987. With views over the city and its seascape, the restaurant is located on the 10th floor of a historically significant building that was originally constructed to mark the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki.
