11.30 Lunch by the fire

Food is prepared by the fire in a Lappish hut, and while enjying the tasty dishes of Lapland, you learn of reindeer year and what is required of a reindeer herder.

12.30 Canoeing Tour on Ounasjoki River

Paddling is an easy way to get to the wilderness of River Ounasjoki. Our guide will then teach the paddling techniques and down the river we go!

15.00 Cocooning in the halipuu forest

Forget your worries and experience the forest from a new perspective – snuggled in a cozy hammock, breathing the purest air of the inhabited world, listening to the sounds of the Arctic and release stress and heal with the medicinal qualities of the trees. Enjoy the ultimate in forest relaxation as your guide takes you through a series of specific exercises. When you’re ready, you are tucked into a hammock cocoon swaying amongst the Halipuu trees. Afterwards we share Campfire Barista’s world famous specialty coffees (as seen on Gordon Ramsay’s TV-show) and you can also taste our unique, prize winning foresty Chai Lattes – our own recipe including local juniper berries and birch leaves.

9.00 Transfer from Levi to Inari (approx. 3hrs). In Inari Village you will meet your local host from Lapland North Destinations.

11.30-13.00 Visit to Tuula’s Reindeer

Let's meet our furry friends - the reindeer! Upon arrival we are greeted by the local hostess who leads us to the reindeer fence and introduces us to her reindeer and reindeer herding, which has been an important livelihood in Lapland for centuries. We have an opportunity to feed reindeer and take photos with them. After meeting the reindeer we are invited to the hostess´s house where she tells us about Sámi handicraft, for example how traditional reindeer boots are made. She also tells us how local plants can be used to dye wool into the colors of the Lapland summer and autumn and how it can be used afterwards to make beautiful home-made blankets, socks and mittens.

Transfer from Tuula's reindeer to AT Nature

13.45-15.45 Visit to AT Nature

First we will first enjoy lunch in a kota-tepee by open fire and then explore the arctic nature with a local biologist. During the guided nature walk we learn about arctic nature, its plants, birds and other animals. If we are lucky, we might see e.g. Siberian Jay, Pine Grosbeak and Capercaillie. We may also find some berries and mushrooms to pick!

After nature walk, transfer to Inari village and to Wilderness Hotel Juutua. Transfer time approx. 20 minutes.

9.00-10.30 A one hour guided tour in Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida

Sámi Museum and Nature Centre Siida was selected as the European Museum of the Year 2024 and as the Museum of the Year 2024 in Finland. Sámi culture and nature are an integral part of everyday life in the northernmost Lapland and now you have an opportunity to get familiar with it. After the guided tour you will have some time to visit Siida’s outdoor museum or to do shopping in the museum shop.

11.45-13.15 Forest bathing at Arctic Sky Lapland

At Arctic Sky Lapland we take part to Forest bathing which is a nature connection exercise in the forest. It is, simply put, "bathing" in the forest, i.e. sensing the forest and the natural environment with all the senses. It isn't just walking in the forest; it involves various sensory exercises and often also meditation. Forest bathing is proven to reduce stress hormone production and improve quality of sleep and overall happiness.

Lunch prepared of local ingredients is served by open fire in a cozy turf hut Maahinen at Suomen Latu Kiilopää.

14.30-16.15 E-biking in Urho Kekkonen National Park

After lunch we hop on ebikes and go for a ride in Urho Kekkonen National Park, which is the second largest and one of the most popular national parks in Finland. This is a great way to experience the autumn nature and its beautiful colors! During the ride we will have an opportunity to admire breathtaking fell scenery which you will surely remember.

16.30-18.00 Smoke sauna experience

Suomen Latu Kiilopää is well-known for its famous smoke sauna Kuurakaltio - it is a must experience while visiting Lapland North area and now we have an opportunity to enjoy of it! Be prepared for warm baths in the atmospheric smoke sauna and a refreshing dip in the river next to the sauna. 

Transfer to Wilderness Hotel Muotka and check-in

Muotka is the ultimate destination with endless possibilities for any kind of outdoor activity. The magical landscapes of taiga forest and tranquil nature will make sure your holiday is one to remember.

9.30-12.00 Husky experience

It’s time to go for a walk with the huskies! Hiking with huskies is another great way to get to know Lappish nature and these enthusiastic Arctic animals. On arrival to the starting point of the hike we are welcomed by eager, but friendly barking, as these dogs are keen to get going! Our guide will share his knowledge of the life of the sled dogs and give us instructions on how to handle them. We will get to know our dogs by name and the tricks he or she is capable of. The hike itself is on easy terrain, and we can spot various Arctic shrubs, berries, birds and perhaps even animals inhabiting the forests. After the hike it’s time to enjoy farewell lunch in a Kota restaurant by open fire.Excursion is operated by Lapland Safaris
